The Hilarious Comedy Classic About a Duplicitous Servant and His Incognito Employers!

August 7nd-16th

Thursday, Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:00pm

Beatrice and Florindo are two young lovers beset by tragedy.  Beatrice’s brother Federico forbade their marriage and was subsequently killed in a duel with Florindo. In order to help her lover flee Turin, Beatrice decides to disguise herself as her deceased brother in order to marry his rich Venitian fiancee, Clarice, and use her dowry to secure Florindo’s escape. Unbeknownst to her, Florindo has already escaped from Turin and has also arrived in Venice.

So far, none of this sounds like a comedy. That’s where the mischievous Servant Truffaldino comes in. Ravenous, lecherous, and sardonic to a fault, Truffaldino is Beatrice’s irreverent servant who never met a scam he didn’t like. After a chance meeting with the disguised Florindo, Truffaldino quickly agrees to work for him as well. Trying like mad to keep his dual-loyalty a secret, Truffaldino  courts disaster and success (and the lovely Smeraldino) before ultimately saving the day!
